The NIBCO CC00050 is a 3/4-inch Schedule 80 polypropylene socket coupling designed for joining plastic piping systems in industrial, chemical, and process-fluid applications. It features a Slip x SR FIPT end connection configuration and is molded in black polypropylene, a material well-suited to corrosive fluid service where metal fittings are not appropriate. The Schedule 80 wall thickness gives it greater pressure tolerance than standard Schedule 40 fittings. Rated for service from 73 degrees F to 280 degrees F, this coupling handles a wide range of process temperatures. It conforms to ASTM D4101 material standards. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting in systems handling acids, bases, and other aggressive media.
This coupling is used in residential, commercial, and light industrial piping systems that require Schedule 80 polypropylene construction. Common applications include chemical feed lines, laboratory drain systems, water treatment systems, and industrial process piping where corrosion resistance and temperature tolerance are required. The socket design accepts pipe for solvent-cement joining or threaded assembly on the SR FIPT end, making it adaptable to different installation configurations on the same fitting.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for 3/4-inch Schedule 80 polypropylene piping systems using socket and threaded connections conforming to ASTM D4101.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter familiar with plastic piping systems. Solvent cementing on the slip socket end must use a cement rated for polypropylene; standard PVC or CPVC cements are not compatible. Depressurize and drain the system completely before cutting into an existing line. Follow IPC and local plumbing code requirements for plastic piping in the applicable service environment.
