The NIBCO b056300 is a cast copper sweat CxC 90-degree reducing elbow used to change direction in a copper piping system while simultaneously reducing the line size. It connects a 1-1/2 inch run to a 3/4 inch branch or outlet using standard sweat (solder) joints on both ends. Cast copper construction provides consistent wall thickness and reliable joint integrity. This fitting is installed by licensed plumbers and pipefitters in residential and light commercial applications where a directional change and size reduction are needed in a single fitting.
This elbow is suited for domestic hot and cold water supply systems, hydronic heating distribution lines, and general copper plumbing installations. The 1-1/2 inch by 3/4 inch size combination is commonly used where a main supply line reduces to a smaller branch, such as at fixture connections or zone takeoffs in radiant and forced-hot-water systems.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for standard copper sweat piping systems using 1-1/2 inch and 3/4 inch nominal copper tube.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and the IPC. Shut off and drain the water supply completely before cutting into an existing line. Clean and flux both tube ends and fitting sockets thoroughly before applying heat and solder. Avoid overheating the fitting, as excessive heat can burn the flux and compromise joint quality.
