The NEWAGE INDUSTRIES 5010628 is a male barbed tube connector designed to create secure, leak-resistant connections between flexible tubing and threaded ports. Built from polyethylene, this fitting accepts 1/2-inch inner-diameter tubing on the barb end and threads into a 1/2-inch NPT female port on the opposite end. The barbed design grips tubing without clamps in low-pressure applications, though clamps are recommended for added retention in demanding service conditions. It is REACH and RoHS compliant, making it suitable for applications with environmental or regulatory requirements. Plumbers, HVAC technicians, and fluid-handling specialists commonly install this type of fitting in water distribution, chemical transfer, and air-line systems.
This connector is appropriate for residential and light commercial installations where flexible polyethylene or compatible tubing must interface with standard NPT-threaded fittings. Typical applications include potable water lines, irrigation systems, pneumatic circuits, and general fluid transfer where a barb-to-NPT transition is required. The black polyethylene construction offers resistance to moisture and many common chemicals encountered in trade service environments. Sold in a package quantity of 10, this fitting suits both single-repair and multi-unit installation jobs.
Designed as an OEM-style barbed tube connector for use with 1/2-inch inner-diameter flexible tubing and standard 1/2-inch NPT female threaded ports in fluid transfer, irrigation, and pneumatic systems.
Shut off fluid supply and relieve system pressure before removing or installing any fittings. Thread the male NPT end into the female port by hand first, then tighten with an appropriate wrench, taking care not to over-torque polyethylene fittings. Seat flexible tubing fully over the barb and secure with an appropriate clamp when operating above low-pressure conditions. Installation should comply with applicable plumbing codes such as the IPC where potable water service is involved.
