The NDL INDUSTRIES W4078 is a copper reducing tee designed for sweat-connection refrigerant and fluid piping systems. It features a C x C x C (solder cup) connection type with a run size of 1-3/8 inches by 1-3/8 inches and a reduced branch outlet of 7/8 inches. This fitting allows a technician to branch off a main line at a reduced diameter without additional adapters. HVAC and refrigeration technicians, plumbers, and pipefitters install this type of fitting during new system construction or service work where a line split or branch connection is required.
This reducing tee is suited for copper refrigerant lines, chilled water piping, and potable or process water distribution where solder-joint fittings are specified. The 1-3/8-inch run size is common in commercial refrigeration and larger residential or light-commercial HVAC systems. The 7/8-inch branch outlet accommodates a standard-diameter suction or liquid line branch connection.
Designed as an OEM-style copper sweat fitting for use in copper refrigerant piping, chilled water, and plumbing systems that require a reducing tee with C x C x C connections at the specified sizes.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician, refrigeration mechanic, or plumber in accordance with applicable mechanical and plumbing codes. Isolate and recover any refrigerant charge, or shut off and drain water lines before cutting into an existing system. All three solder cups must be thoroughly cleaned and fluxed prior to brazing or soldering to ensure a sound joint. Nitrogen purge is recommended during brazing on refrigerant lines to prevent internal oxidation.
