The NDL INDUSTRIES W1387 is a copper reducing bushing designed to transition between two different pipe diameters in a copper plumbing or HVAC refrigerant piping system. The male FTG (fitting) end measures 4-1/8 inches and the female C (cup) end measures 3-1/8 inches, allowing a larger-diameter fitting or pipe to connect directly to a smaller-diameter copper line. Licensed plumbers and HVAC technicians use this type of bushing when a direct reducer coupling is not available or when space constraints require an inline concentric reduction. The fitting follows standard copper sweat connection practices and is manufactured by NDL Industries Inc.
This reducing bushing is suited for residential and commercial copper piping applications where a size reduction is needed within an existing run. The FTG x C configuration means the 4-1/8 inches male end fits directly inside a same-size cup fitting, while the 3-1/8 inches female cup end receives a 3-1/8 inches copper pipe or fitting. Typical install scenarios include main distribution lines, large-diameter branch transitions, and refrigerant piping assemblies where reducing the line size mid-run is required.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-use fitting for copper plumbing and refrigerant piping systems requiring a 4-1/8 inches to 3-1/8 inches FTG x C reduction.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or HVAC technician familiar with copper sweat-soldering procedures. Shut off the water supply or isolate the refrigerant circuit and fully depressurize the line before cutting or joining any fittings. Clean and flux both mating surfaces before soldering, and follow applicable codes such as the IPC or IFGC for the specific system type. Allow the joint to cool completely before restoring pressure and inspecting for leaks.
