The NDL INDUSTRIES W1368 is a copper reducing bushing designed to connect two copper pipes or fittings of different diameters in a sweat-solder installation. With a FTG (fitting-end) male inlet and a C (cup) female outlet, this bushing seats directly into a standard copper fitting, eliminating the need for an additional coupling. The inlet size is 2-5/8 inches and the outlet size is 1-5/8 inches. Plumbers and pipefitters install this type of reducer when stepping down a main line to a smaller branch or when adapting existing copper piping to a new fixture or component connection.
This reducing bushing is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing and hydronic systems where copper sweat connections are standard. It is installed wherever a line-size reduction is needed within a copper piping assembly, including supply lines, distribution manifolds, and mechanical room piping. The FTG x C configuration allows the bushing to be soldered directly into a full-size fitting socket without occupying additional inline space, making it practical in tight or congested pipe runs. Sold in a box quantity of 15 units.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and new-installation fitting for copper sweat piping systems using standard FTG and C connection sizing conventions.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or pipefitters using standard sweat-soldering technique in accordance with applicable IPC and IFGC guidelines. Shut off and depressurize the water or fluid system and ensure the pipe ends are clean, dry, and properly deburred before fluxing and soldering. Use lead-free solder and flux rated for potable water systems where applicable. Do not apply heat to a fitting that still contains residual moisture, as steam pressure can compromise the solder joint.
