The NDL INDUSTRIES W1351 is a copper reducing bushing designed to transition between two different pipe sizes within a copper plumbing or HVAC refrigerant piping system. It features a FTG (fitting-to-copper) connection on the larger end and a C (copper sweat) connection on the smaller end, allowing it to seat directly inside a standard fitting socket. The bushing reduces from 1.625 inches on the FTG side to 1.125 inches on the sweat side. Licensed plumbers and HVAC technicians install this fitting when a direct size reduction is needed without adding an additional coupling or adapter to the line.
This reducing bushing is suited for residential and commercial plumbing, hydronic piping, and refrigerant line applications where copper sweat fittings are the specified connection method. The FTG x C configuration makes it particularly useful for in-line reductions where the bushing nests inside an existing fitting rather than requiring a dedicated tee or union. It is sold in a box quantity of 10, making it practical for service trucks and job-site stock.
Designed as an OEM-style copper sweat fitting for use in standard copper plumbing and refrigerant piping systems requiring a 1.625-inch to 1.125-inch reducing bushing with FTG x C connections.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber or HVAC technician trained in copper sweat-solder methods. Shut off the water supply or isolate and recover refrigerant from the system before cutting into any existing line. Clean all mating surfaces with emery cloth, apply appropriate flux, and solder the joint in accordance with applicable IPC or IFGC requirements and local code. Avoid overheating the fitting, as excessive heat can damage nearby valves or components.
