The NDL INDUSTRIES W1343 is a copper reducing bushing designed to connect two different pipe sizes within a copper plumbing or HVAC refrigerant piping system. It transitions from a 1.375-inch fitting (FTG) end to a 1.125-inch copper (C) socket end, allowing a larger pipe or fitting to mate with a smaller downstream line. This type of bushing is a standard sweat-solder fitting installed by licensed plumbers and HVAC technicians during new construction, retrofits, and system modifications where pipe size reductions are required.
This reducing bushing is suited for residential and light commercial applications wherever a copper-to-copper size transition is needed in a pressure line. Typical scenarios include branch reductions in domestic water supply, hydronic heating loops, and refrigerant piping layouts. The FTG x C configuration means the male end inserts directly into a standard copper fitting hub, while the female end accepts a standard copper tube, making it compatible with conventional sweat-solder assembly practices. Sold in a box quantity of 10, making it practical for multi-joint jobs.
Designed as an OEM-style sweat-solder copper reducing bushing for use in standard copper piping systems where a 1.375-inch to 1.125-inch size reduction is required.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified HVAC technician following applicable local plumbing codes and ASTM B88 copper tube standards. Shut off and depressurize the system and allow all components to cool completely before soldering. Clean all mating surfaces with emery cloth and apply appropriate flux before sweating the joint. Avoid overheating the fitting, as excessive heat can compromise the integrity of the solder joint.
