The NATIONAL MFG/SPECTRUM BRANDS HHI N232-884 is a zinc-plated J-bolt fastener used to secure pipe, conduit, strut, and mechanical components to wood framing, concrete anchors, or structural supports. The J-shaped hook profile allows the bolt to wrap around or anchor into a substrate while the threaded shank accepts a standard nut for clamping. At 0.25 inches in diameter and 2.3125 inches in overall length, this fastener fits common light-duty pipe hanging and equipment mounting applications. Zinc plating provides basic corrosion resistance for dry or mildly humid interior environments. This hardware is installed by plumbers, HVAC technicians, and electricians during rough-in and is sold in bulk packs of 10 units.
This J-bolt is suited for residential and light commercial installations where pipe, conduit, or small mechanical assemblies need to be anchored to wood or compatible structural members. Typical applications include securing water supply lines, drain piping, low-voltage conduit runs, and HVAC accessory mounting brackets. The bulk pack of 10 makes it practical for service vans and job-site inventory. It is intended for interior use or protected enclosures where exposure to standing moisture or outdoor elements is not a factor.
Designed as a standard 1/4 inch J-bolt for general-purpose pipe hanging, conduit support, and mechanical component mounting in residential and light commercial rough-in applications.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers, electricians, or HVAC technicians as part of pipe and conduit rough-in work. Ensure the substrate material is rated for the intended load before driving or threading the bolt. Apply a nut and washer to the threaded shank and tighten to the structural assembly per applicable IPC, IFGC, or NEC support-spacing requirements for the pipe or conduit type being hung. Do not use this zinc-plated fastener in outdoor, submerged, or high-humidity environments where corrosion resistance beyond basic zinc plating is required.
