The NATIONAL MARKER N148320 is a steel continuous hinge measuring 1.5 inches wide by 48 inches long, finished in nickel and designed for durable, full-length pivoting on enclosures, storage units, and light-duty fixtures. Part of the V570 series, it features an electrofilm-coated pin with a 0.090-inch diameter that resists rust and stays retained in the hinge leaf — it will not fall out when the hinge is cut to a custom length. At a 0.042-inch gauge, the hinge offers consistent strength along its full span. Screw holes are spaced 2 inches apart for straightforward mounting alignment. The hinge ships with Phillips flat No. 4 x 0.5-inch screws included.
This continuous hinge is suited for residential and light commercial applications including tool chests, storage cabinets, folding tables, and hobby project enclosures. Its full-length piano-style design distributes load evenly across the entire hinge line, making it appropriate anywhere a standard butt hinge would create stress concentrations or fail to provide adequate support along a long door or lid edge. The 48-inch length can be cut to any shorter dimension required without compromising pin retention.
Designed as an OEM-style continuous hinge for tool chests, cabinets, folding tables, and hobby project enclosures requiring a full-length piano hinge up to 48 inches.
Installation is typically performed with a standard Phillips screwdriver or drill driver using the included No. 4 screws. When cutting the hinge to a shorter length, use a metal-cutting blade or tin snips and deburr the cut edge before mounting. Ensure the mounting surface is clean, flat, and structurally sound before fastening. No power shutoff is required for this mechanical hardware installation.
