The NATIONAL HARDWARE N830-133 is a two-piece handrail bracket designed to support wooden handrails along stairways. Cast from aluminum with an oil rubbed bronze finish, this bracket adjusts to accommodate any stairway angle, making it a practical solution for both new installations and replacement work. The bracket ships with fasteners included. Maximum spacing between brackets must not exceed 48 inches. Licensed contractors and experienced finish carpenters install this hardware in residential stair applications where a secure, angle-adjustable connection between the handrail and wall is required.
This bracket is suited for residential stairway installations where wooden handrails must be anchored to wall surfaces at varying pitch angles. The two-piece design allows the wall-mount base and rail saddle to pivot independently, eliminating the need for a fixed-angle bracket on angled runs. It works on straight and curved stairway layouts where the rail must transition along an incline. Fasteners are included in the package, reducing the number of separate components needed for a standard installation.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation bracket for wooden handrails on residential stairways where an angle-adjustable wall-mount solution is required.
Installation is typically performed by a finish carpenter or licensed contractor. Fasten the wall-base component into wall studs or solid blocking for adequate pull-out resistance — avoid anchoring into drywall alone. Space brackets no more than 48 inches apart along the handrail run. Follow applicable building code requirements for handrail height and graspability, including IRC Section R311 where adopted.
