The NAPOLEON ax42nte-2 is a direct vent natural gas fireplace with electronic ignition, designed for residential installation by qualified gas appliance technicians. It delivers a maximum heat output of 38,000 BTU/h and features a clean-face firebox design that eliminates the traditional louver grille for a flush, built-in appearance. The unit includes Ultra HD log sets engineered to closely replicate the visual texture of natural wood, an integrated Night Light function for low-light ambiance, and a variable-speed heat-circulating blower to improve room heat distribution. Control is handled through Napoleon's eFIRE mobile app, allowing remote adjustment of flame and blower settings.
The ax42nte-2 is suited for residential living spaces where a direct vent gas fireplace is the specified heat appliance. Direct vent construction draws combustion air from outside and exhausts flue gases through a sealed coaxial vent system, making it compatible with tight-construction homes. The 42.25-inch viewing area provides a wide flame display appropriate for great rooms, living rooms, and open-plan spaces. Heat management options include LHAD, DHC, DHC+, and DHM modes. Installation requires a framed opening of 42.75 inches wide by 46.63 inches high by 19 inches deep.
Designed as an OEM direct vent natural gas fireplace unit intended for new residential construction or remodel installations requiring a 42.75-inch wide by 46.63-inch high by 19-inch deep framed chase opening.
Installation must be performed by a licensed gas appliance technician in accordance with the National Fuel Gas Code (NFPA 54) and all applicable local codes. Shut off the gas supply at the main valve and confirm zero pressure at the appliance connection before any service work. The direct vent coaxial flue system must be routed and terminated strictly per the manufacturer's venting instructions; do not mix vent components from other manufacturers. Framing, gas line sizing, and electrical connections for the blower and ignition system should be verified against the unit's installation manual before commissioning.
