The MUELLER STREAMLINE W-4047 is a reducing copper fitting tee used in refrigeration and plumbing tubing systems. It connects two 5/8-inch run ports to a 7/8-inch branch outlet in a sweat (solder) configuration. The fitting-to-fitting (FTG) end on the outlet allows it to slide directly over copper tubing, making it suitable for tight assemblies where a standard socket end is not practical. Licensed HVAC and refrigeration technicians are the primary installers of this fitting in new construction and service work.

This tee is used in residential and light commercial refrigerant piping, as well as potable water and hydronic applications where copper sweat fittings are the standard. The reducing geometry - 5/8-inch on both run ends and 7/8-inch on the branch - allows a technician to tap off a larger main line into two smaller branch lines, or to consolidate flow from smaller branches. It is sold individually and is well-suited to service truck stock for common line-set and branch circuit work.

Installation Notes

Clean and flux all mating surfaces before applying heat, and allow the joint to cool completely before restoring pressure. Do not overheat copper sweat joints, as excessive heat can damage flux and weaken the solder bond.
