The MUELLER STREAMLINE W-1737 is a flush-pattern copper bushing used to reduce between two sweat (solder) connections in copper tubing systems. It features a 1-1/8 inch male sweat end and a 7/8 inch female sweat end. The flush design keeps the bushing seated flush within the fitting socket, producing a clean, low-profile joint. Plumbers and HVAC technicians use this type of bushing when a reduction is needed inline without adding a coupling or union. It is compatible with standard ACR and plumbing copper tubing and is joined using conventional lead-free solder methods.
This bushing is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing, hydronic heating, and refrigeration piping applications where a direct copper-to-copper sweat reduction is required. It is sold as an individual piece and is typically installed during rough-in or retrofit work where tube sizing changes between sections of a run.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard-service copper flush bushing for use in copper sweat piping systems where a 1-1/8 inch to 7/8 inch inline reduction is required.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or HVAC technician familiar with copper sweat joining. Shut off and depressurize the water or refrigerant line and allow all piping to cool completely before cutting or soldering. Clean all mating surfaces with emery cloth and apply flux per the solder manufacturer instructions before heating. Follow applicable local plumbing codes and ASTM B32 solder alloy requirements for potable water or refrigeration service.
