The MUELLER STREAMLINE W-1725 is a copper flush bushing used to reduce pipe size within a sweat (solder) assembly without adding length to the connection. Sized at 7/8 inch male fitting (FTG) by 3/4 inch female sweat (FS), this bushing slips inside a fitting socket and is soldered in place, keeping the overall footprint compact. It is a standard component in copper water supply and hydronic piping systems. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters use flush bushings when transitioning between tube sizes in tight spaces where a standard reducing coupling or adapter would add unwanted length to the run.
The W-1725 is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing applications including potable water supply lines, hydronic heating loops, and refrigeration piping where copper sweat connections are specified. The fitting-by-female-sweat configuration allows it to seat flush inside an existing fitting socket, making it a practical choice for in-line size reductions at elbows, tees, and couplings.
Designed as an OEM-style sweat fitting replacement for use in copper piping systems that require a flush-style bushing reducing from 7/8 inch to 3/4 inch.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable IPC and local plumbing code requirements. Shut off and drain the water supply before cutting into any existing line. Clean and flux all mating surfaces thoroughly before applying heat; use lead-free solder where potable water service is involved. Do not overheat the fitting, as excess heat can wick solder away from the joint and compromise the connection.
