The MUELLER STREAMLINE W 01037 is a copper reducing coupling designed to join two copper pipes of different diameters in a plumbing or HVAC piping system. It accepts a 3/4-inch nominal pipe on one end and a 3/8-inch nominal pipe on the other, with a C x C (copper sweat) end style on both sides. This fitting is installed by licensed plumbers and HVAC technicians wherever a line-size reduction is needed in a copper tubing run. The sweat-connect design provides a leak-tight, soldered joint suitable for potable water, refrigerant, and hydronic applications.
This reducing coupling is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing and HVAC installations. It is commonly used when transitioning from a main supply line down to a branch line, connecting to a fixture supply, or reducing tubing size within a refrigerant circuit. The 3/4-inch by 3/8-inch size combination is a frequently encountered reduction in residential construction and service work.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and new-installation fitting for copper tubing systems using 3/4-inch and 3/8-inch nominal C x C connections, consistent with standard sweat-fitting plumbing and HVAC applications.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber or HVAC technician. Shut off the water supply or isolate the refrigerant circuit and relieve pressure before cutting into the line. Clean and deburr both tube ends, apply flux, and solder the joint in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and ASTM B32 solder standards. Do not apply heat near flammable materials, and follow all applicable IPC and IFGC requirements for the installation environment.
