The MUELLER STREAMLINE W 01004 is a wrot copper reducing coupling with cup-by-cup (C x C) solder-joint ends, sized at 1/8 inch by 1/16 inch. It is used to transition between two different small-diameter copper lines in pressurized supply systems. The fitting is manufactured from wrot copper, which offers a dense, work-hardened grain structure well suited for soldered connections in tight-tolerance plumbing applications. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting using standard soldering procedures. It meets multiple ASME dimensional standards and carries NSF 61G certification for use in potable water systems.
This reducing coupling is intended for residential and light commercial plumbing applications where a copper supply line must step down from a 1/8 inch connection to a 1/16 inch connection. Its compact size makes it appropriate for instrumentation lines, pilot supply tubing, gauge connections, and other small-bore copper assemblies. The cup ends accept standard solder-joint assembly per CDA pressure and temperature rating guidelines for copper fittings.
Designed as an OEM-style solder-joint fitting for pressurized copper supply systems requiring a reducing connection between 1/8 inch and 1/16 inch cup-end copper tubing.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter following applicable IPC and local plumbing code requirements. Shut off and depressurize the supply line and allow all tubing to cool completely before cutting or soldering. Clean and flux all mating surfaces per standard copper soldering practice before applying heat. Do not overheat the fitting, as wrot copper solder-joint fittings require controlled torch work to maintain joint integrity.
