The MUELLER STREAMLINE press-pf01036 is a mechanical press copper reducer fitting designed for professional plumbing and mechanical piping applications. This fitting connects 3/4-inch copper tube to 1/2-inch copper tube without soldering or open flame, using a compatible pressing tool and jaw set. It is rated for operating pressures up to 300 psi and a temperature range of -20 degrees F to 250 degrees F. The fitting is compatible with ASTM B88 hard-drawn copper tube in Types K, L, and M, as well as soft copper tube. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers of this component in new construction and retrofit mechanical systems.
This reducer fitting is suited for residential and commercial plumbing systems, hydronic heating lines, and mechanical piping where a transition from 3/4-inch to 1/2-inch copper is required. It is engineered for use with hard-drawn copper tube from 1/2 inch to 4 inches and soft copper tube from 1/2 inch to 1-1/4 inches per the ASTM B88 standard. The press-fit connection method eliminates torch work, making it appropriate for installations in occupied spaces or areas with fire-safety restrictions.
Designed for use with ASTM B88 Types K, L, and M hard-drawn copper tube from 1/2 inch to 4 inches, and soft copper tube from 1/2 inch to 1-1/4 inches. Compatible with most common mechanical pressing tools and jaw sets available in the plumbing and mechanical trades.
This fitting is installed by licensed plumbers or pipefitters using a compatible mechanical pressing tool and the appropriate jaw size for the tube diameter. Shut off and depressurize the water or fluid system before cutting into any existing line. Ensure tube ends are cut square, deburred, and cleaned before inserting into the fitting to the full depth mark. After pressing, visually inspect each connection for the indicator window on the SURE PRS seal to confirm a fully pressed joint before restoring system pressure.
