The MUELLER STREAMLINE DRIEA-19004 is a high-capacity filter drier designed for use in refrigeration and air conditioning liquid lines. It removes moisture, acid, and particulates from the refrigerant circuit, protecting compressors and expansion devices from contamination-related failures. The unit holds 16 cubic inches of desiccant volume and is rated to 700 psi, making it suitable for systems operating with common HFC and HCFC refrigerants. The body measures 5.87 inches overall length with a 4.41-inch cutout length, and features a powder-coated steel shell for corrosion resistance. Solder connections allow for a leak-tight brazed installation, as required on permanent or semi-permanent refrigerant circuit assemblies.
This filter drier is intended for installation in residential and light commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems where high desiccant capacity is required. Typical applications include split-system air conditioners, heat pumps, and refrigeration units where the system has been open to atmosphere for an extended period or has experienced a compressor burnout requiring aggressive moisture and acid removal. The 3-inch ID, 3.15-inch OD body diameter fits standard line set configurations where a larger-capacity drier is specified over a standard-volume unit.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation filter drier for residential and light commercial refrigeration and air conditioning liquid line applications requiring a high-capacity solder-connect drier.
Filter driers in refrigerant circuits are installed by EPA 608-certified HVAC technicians. Recover all refrigerant and confirm the system is fully depressurized before cutting or unbrazing any refrigerant line. Use a nitrogen purge during brazing to prevent copper oxidation inside the line set, and flow nitrogen continuously until joints have cooled. Install the drier with the flow arrow oriented in the direction of refrigerant flow, and replace any filter drier that has been open to atmosphere for more than 15 minutes.
