The MUELLER STREAMLINE CPL00898 is a wrot copper slip coupling with no internal stop, designed for sweat (solder) connections in copper tube systems. The no-stop design allows the fitting to slide freely along the pipe, making it the correct choice when joining copper tubing in repair situations where a standard coupling with a stop cannot be repositioned. Sized at 1/2 inch C x C, this fitting connects two copper tube ends using a capillary solder joint on each side. It is installed by licensed plumbers and HVAC technicians in residential and light commercial water distribution and refrigerant piping applications.
This coupling is suited for use in potable water supply lines, hydronic heating systems, and general copper tube assemblies where a full-flow, no-stop slip fitting is required. The wrot copper construction meets ASME and NSF standards, making it appropriate for both drinking water and mechanical system applications. Its compact profile fits tight spaces where fittings must slide over existing pipe runs during repair work.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard slip coupling for 1/2 inch copper tube systems using sweat (C x C) connections in plumbing and HVAC piping.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or HVAC technicians using standard copper sweat tools including a pipe cutter, emery cloth or fitting brush, flux, and a propane or MAP gas torch. Shut off and drain the water supply or depressurize the refrigerant system completely before cutting into existing lines. The no-stop design requires the fitting to be slid fully onto one pipe end and then repositioned over the joint before soldering both ends. Follow applicable plumbing codes including IPC and local amendments for solder type and flux requirements on potable water systems.
