The MUELLER STREAMLINE CPL00356 is a wrot copper reducing coupling designed for sweat-solder connections in residential and commercial plumbing and HVAC hydronic systems. It joins a 1-1/2 inch copper tube to a 1-1/4 inch copper tube using a copper-to-copper (C x C) connection on both ends. At 0.23 pounds, this fitting is lightweight and easy to handle during rough-in work. It meets ASME and NSF standards, making it suitable for potable water and mechanical piping applications. Licensed plumbers and HVAC technicians installing or modifying copper distribution lines are the primary installers.
This reducing coupling fits into standard copper tube sweat-solder assemblies where a line size reduction from 1-1/2 inch to 1-1/4 inch is required. Typical applications include domestic hot and cold water supply lines, hydronic heating distribution piping, and refrigeration or chilled water systems that use copper tube. It is appropriate for both new construction and retrofit work where copper tube sizes transition within a run.
Designed as an OEM-style sweat-solder fitting compatible with standard 1-1/2 inch and 1-1/4 inch copper tube conforming to ASTM B88 specifications in Type K, L, or M wall designations.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified HVAC technician in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and IAPMO or IPC requirements. Shut off and drain the affected water or fluid circuit completely before cutting into the line. Thoroughly clean and flux both tube ends and fitting sockets before applying heat with a propane or MAP-gas torch. Allow the joint to cool undisturbed before restoring system pressure.
