The MUELLER STREAMLINE CPL00354 is a wrot copper reducing coupling designed for sweat (C x C) connections in residential and commercial plumbing and HVAC refrigerant piping systems. It transitions from a 3/4-inch to a 5/8-inch copper tube connection using standard capillary solder joints. Manufactured from wrot copper, this fitting meets ASME and NSF standards, making it suitable for potable water, hydronic, and refrigeration line applications. At 0.06 pounds, it is a compact, lightweight fitting intended for high-volume rough-in and service work.
This reducing coupling is used wherever a plumber or HVAC technician needs to step down copper tubing diameter within a sweat-fit assembly. Typical applications include domestic water supply lines, chilled water piping, and refrigerant suction or liquid line transitions. The C x C configuration is compatible with standard copper tubing and requires only a torch, flux, and solder to complete the joint, making it a staple fitting for both new construction and retrofit service calls.
Designed as an OEM-style sweat fitting compatible with standard hard and soft drawn copper tubing in C x C configurations for plumbing and HVAC piping systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or HVAC technician in accordance with applicable local codes and IPC or IFGC requirements. Shut off and depressurize the system and fully drain any standing water from the line before cutting and fitting. Clean and flux all mating tube ends before applying heat to ensure a sound capillary solder joint. Avoid overheating the fitting, as excessive heat can burn flux and result in a void in the joint.
