The MUELLER STREAMLINE COTRED33112 is a copper reducing tee designed for sweat-solder plumbing installations. The fitting connects two 3-inch run ports to a 1-1/2-inch branch outlet, allowing a single main line to feed a reduced branch line in one fitting. It is fabricated from copper, which provides corrosion resistance and long service life in both hot and cold water systems. Licensed plumbers install this type of fitting in residential and light commercial supply, distribution, and drain configurations where a size transition is needed at a tee junction.
This reducing tee is suited for copper tube systems in residential and commercial plumbing where the main run remains at 3 inches and a branch reduction to 1-1/2 inches is required. Typical applications include domestic water distribution mains, recirculation lines, and mechanical room piping. The sweat-solder end connections are compatible with standard copper tubing cut and prepared to IPC and IFGC-referenced plumbing practice.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and new-installation fitting for copper tube plumbing systems using standard 3-inch and 1-1/2-inch copper tubing per ASTM sizing conventions.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber following applicable IPC or local plumbing code requirements. Shut off and drain the water supply fully before cutting into any live line. Clean and flux all mating copper surfaces prior to soldering, and use lead-free solder where required by code for potable water service. Allow joints to cool completely before restoring water pressure.
