The MUELLER STREAMLINE COTRED22114 is a copper reducing tee used in plumbing and hydronic systems where a branch line requires a smaller diameter than the main run. It connects a 2-inch run on both ends to a 1-1/4-inch branch outlet, allowing flow diversion or distribution without additional fittings. This tee is a standard pressure fitting installed by licensed plumbers in residential and light commercial applications. It is well suited for water supply, heating, and HVAC hydronic piping configurations where size reduction at the branch is required.
This reducing tee is used in new construction and retrofit plumbing installations where copper pipe is the specified material. Typical applications include domestic water distribution, radiant heating systems, and chilled water piping. It fits into systems using sweat-soldered connections and is compatible with standard copper tubing conforming to ASTM B88 dimensions. Both the main run and branch connections are made using standard torch soldering technique.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for copper plumbing systems using sweat-solder connections with standard 2-inch and 1-1/4-inch copper tubing.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off and drain the water supply before cutting into any existing piping. Clean pipe ends and fitting sockets thoroughly before applying flux and soldering. Avoid overheating the fitting during soldering, as excessive heat can damage the fitting or nearby components.
