The MUELLER STREAMLINE COTRED11412114 is a copper reducing tee designed for branch connections in residential and commercial plumbing systems. This fitting joins a 1.25-inch run on both ends while reducing to a 0.5-inch branch outlet, making it a practical choice when a smaller-diameter line must tap off a larger main line. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this type of fitting during new construction, renovation, and repair work on domestic water supply and hydronic heating lines. The all-copper construction provides reliable corrosion resistance and long service life in both hot and cold water applications.
This reducing tee is suited for potable water supply lines, radiant and hydronic systems, and general plumbing distribution work. The 1.25-inch by 0.5-inch by 1.25-inch configuration is a common size in residential water main distribution where branch feeds drop down to fixtures or appliances requiring a half-inch supply connection. It is compatible with standard solder-joint (sweat) copper assembly methods used throughout the industry.
Designed as an OEM-style copper sweat fitting for use with standard Type L and Type M copper tubing in residential and light commercial plumbing systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with the International Plumbing Code (IPC) and applicable local codes. Shut off and drain the water supply before cutting into an existing line. Clean all mating tube ends and fitting sockets thoroughly and apply flux before soldering to ensure a leak-free joint. Avoid overheating the fitting during the sweat process, as excessive heat can damage the copper and compromise the joint integrity.
