The MUELLER STREAMLINE CORED212114 is a wrot copper reducing coupling designed to connect a 2.5-inch tube to a 1.25-inch tube using sweat-solder (C x C) end connections. Rated to 700 psi, this fitting is built from ASTM B75 Alloy C12200 phosphorus-deoxidized copper, which offers consistent solderability and dezincification resistance. Both ends feature solder cups for clean, leak-tight brazed or soldered joints. The lead-free construction meets third-party certification requirements for potable water, medical gas, and healthcare facility piping systems, making it appropriate for demanding applications where material compliance is non-negotiable. Plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers.
This reducing coupling is used wherever a transition from 2.5-inch to 1.25-inch copper tube is required. Common applications include residential and commercial plumbing supply systems, hydronic heating distribution, medical gas piping in healthcare facilities, and compressed gas systems. Its certifications under NSF/ANSI 61 Annex G, ASME B16.22, MSS SP-104, NFPA 99, and Compressed Gas Association Pamphlet G4.1 make it a compliant choice for both standard and specialty piping installations. MSS SP-109 ratings apply for sizes 5 through 8.
Designed as an OEM-style sweat-fit reducing coupling for 2.5-inch to 1.25-inch copper tube systems in residential, commercial, and medical gas piping installations where lead-free, NSF/ANSI 61 and ASME B16.22 compliant fittings are required.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes, ASME B16.22, and NFPA 99 where medical gas service applies. Shut off and depressurize the water or gas supply and purge any residual fluid from the line before soldering or brazing. Clean and flux all mating tube ends and solder cup surfaces per accepted trade practice before applying heat. For medical gas applications, follow CGA Pamphlet G4.1 procedures and verify that all required system certifications and inspections are completed after installation.
