The MUELLER STREAMLINE CORED11212 is a copper reducing coupling designed to connect two copper pipe sections of different diameters using a sweat (solder) connection on both ends. The fitting reduces from 1-1/2 inches on the larger end to 1/2 inch on the smaller end, making it a practical component for plumbing systems where line size changes are required. Installed by licensed plumbers and experienced pipefitters, this coupling maintains a reliable, leak-free joint when properly soldered using standard plumbing techniques.
This reducing coupling is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing applications where copper tubing is the pipe material of choice. Typical installations include domestic water supply lines, hydronic heating systems, and other wet-service piping runs that require a transition from a larger main to a smaller branch line. The C x C (copper by copper) end connections accept standard copper tubing on both sides.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-use fitting compatible with 1-1/2 inch and 1/2 inch copper tubing systems following ASTM and ASME plumbing standards.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off and drain the water supply before cutting into any existing line. Clean and flux both the tubing ends and fitting sockets thoroughly before applying solder to ensure a proper, leak-free joint. Do not apply heat to the fitting while adjacent materials or structures are at risk of heat damage.
