The MUELLER STREAMLINE COADFTGFIP1 is a 1-inch copper female adapter fitting configured with a solder-cup (Ftg) inlet and a female iron pipe (FIP) threaded outlet. This fitting transitions a copper sweat connection to an internal female NPT thread, allowing a copper line to terminate at a threaded connection point. It is a standard-stock fitting used in residential and light commercial plumbing systems. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this type of adapter when connecting copper supply lines to threaded valves, fixtures, or equipment stubs.
This adapter is suited for potable water supply lines, hydronic heating piping, and general plumbing rough-in work where a copper-to-threaded transition is required at a 1-inch nominal pipe size. Typical applications include connecting copper main lines to ball valves, pressure-reducing valves, water heaters, and other threaded plumbing components. It is appropriate for both new construction and retrofit installations where a clean, leak-free copper-to-NPT joint is needed.
Designed as an OEM-style copper sweat fitting compatible with standard 1-inch nominal copper tubing systems using NPT-threaded components per ASME B16.18 or B16.22 dimensional standards.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with the applicable International Plumbing Code (IPC) or local authority having jurisdiction. Shut off and drain the water supply completely before soldering; residual moisture will prevent a proper solder joint. Use lead-free solder and flux rated for potable water service where required by code. Apply thread sealant tape or compound rated for water service to the male NPT threads before making up the threaded connection.
