The MUELLER STREAMLINE COADCMIPRED3412 is a copper male reducing adapter designed to connect a 3/4 inch copper sweat (C) fitting to a 1/2 inch male iron pipe (MIP) threaded connection. This adapter allows a plumber or pipefitter to transition from a larger copper line to a smaller threaded pipe in a single fitting. It is used in potable water supply systems, hydronic heating lines, and general plumbing rough-in work where a reduction in line size is required alongside a sweat-to-threaded transition. The fitting is machined from copper for reliable, corrosion-resistant performance in residential and light commercial plumbing systems.
This reducing adapter is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing installations where a copper supply line must reduce and transition to a threaded male pipe connection. Common applications include water heater connections, fixture supply lines, and branch takeoffs where pipe sizing changes between the main run and the outlet point. It is installed by licensed plumbers working on new construction, remodel, and repair projects in conformance with applicable plumbing codes.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard trade fitting compatible with 3/4 inch copper sweat piping systems transitioning to 1/2 inch male NPT threaded connections in residential and light commercial plumbing applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with the applicable International Plumbing Code (IPC) or local code requirements. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before soldering the sweat end onto the copper tubing. Apply flux only to the cleaned sweat end prior to soldering, and allow the joint to cool completely before pressurizing the system. Wrap the male NPT threads with PTFE tape or apply thread sealant before making the threaded connection.
