The MUELLER STREAMLINE COADCMIPRED11434 is a copper male reducing adapter designed to transition between a 1-1/4 inch copper sweat (C) connection and a 3/4 inch male iron pipe (MIP) threaded connection. This fitting reduces pipe size while changing connection type, making it a practical component in residential and light commercial plumbing systems. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this adapter when connecting copper tubing runs to threaded pipe sections, valves, or fixtures that require a smaller male NPT thread. The solder-cup end accepts standard copper tube and the threaded end conforms to NPT standards.
This reducing adapter is suited for domestic water supply systems, hydronic heating lines, and general plumbing rough-in work where a transition from larger copper tubing to a smaller threaded male outlet is required. It is commonly used when tying into existing threaded valve bodies, pressure gauges, or threaded fittings during installation or retrofit work in both new construction and remodel applications.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-use fitting compatible with 1-1/4 inch copper tube systems requiring a 3/4 inch male NPT threaded outlet connection.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber following local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before soldering or making threaded connections. The sweat end requires proper flux application, clean tube and fitting surfaces, and a lead-free solder suitable for potable water systems per applicable code. Apply thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male NPT threads before connecting to the mating female threaded fitting.
