The MUELLER STREAMLINE COADCFIPRED114112 is a copper female reducing adapter configured with a 1-1/4 inch copper sweat (C) inlet and a 1-1/2 inch female iron pipe (FIP) threaded outlet. This fitting transitions between copper tubing and female-threaded iron pipe connections while stepping up the pipe size in a single fitting. It is used in potable water supply, hydronic heating, and general plumbing distribution systems. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this type of adapter when connecting copper tubing runs to threaded piping, valves, or equipment with FIP inlets.
This reducing adapter is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing installations where a sweat-connected copper line must terminate at a female threaded fitting of a larger nominal size. Typical applications include connecting copper supply lines to threaded pump flanges, manifolds, shutoff valves, and water heater connections. The C x FIP configuration allows the installer to solder the copper end in the field while threading to a pre-installed or pre-tapped fitting on the equipment side.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-use fitting for copper sweat-to-female threaded piping transitions in residential and commercial plumbing systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and IPC requirements. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before soldering or threading. The sweat end must be cleaned, fluxed, and soldered using lead-free solder per applicable code requirements for potable water systems. Apply thread sealant tape or compound to the male threads being inserted into the FIP outlet before making the threaded connection.
