The MUELLER STREAMLINE BUS00978 is a copper flush bushing designed to reduce pipe connections from a 1/2-inch fitting (FTG) end to a 3/8-inch cup (C) sweat end. This fitting is used to transition between two different copper tube sizes within a plumbing or hydronic system. At 0.44 inches in length and 0.5 inches in height and width, it is a compact, low-profile reducer that installs cleanly inside existing fittings without adding significant stack height. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this type of bushing when connecting branch lines, appliance supply lines, or refrigeration tubing where a direct size reduction is required at the joint.
This flush bushing is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing, hydronic heating, refrigeration piping, and HVAC condensate or refrigerant line applications where copper sweat connections are standard. The FTG x C configuration allows the bushing to be inserted directly into a fitting socket, making it a space-efficient solution for in-line size reductions.
