The MUELLER STREAMLINE a16472 is an angle-pattern packed line valve with a non-backseating design, built for use in refrigeration and HVAC line service applications. It features a 1/4 inch NPTFE inlet connection and a 1/4 inch flare outlet, making it a direct interface between threaded and flare piping systems. Rated to 700 psi maximum allowable pressure and operational across a temperature range of -40 degrees F to 300 degrees F, this valve is suited for demanding refrigerant line service. The standard seal cap is brass, and replacement seal caps are available in both brass and plastic. Licensed HVAC technicians and refrigeration service pros are the primary installers.
This valve is designed for angle-orientation installation in refrigerant line sets where an NPTFE threaded inlet must transition to a flare-end outlet. Its non-backseating configuration and packed stem construction are standard for refrigerant isolation and service valve applications in both residential and light commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems. The compact form factor and low weight of 0.29 pounds make it practical for tight equipment access areas.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation packed line valve for refrigerant and HVAC piping systems requiring a 1/4 inch NPTFE-to-flare angle valve connection. Compatible seal cap replacements include brass cap A 16474 and plastic cap P 34627.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC or refrigeration technician in accordance with applicable mechanical codes. Recover all refrigerant and relieve system pressure before removing or installing any line valve. Use appropriate flare tooling to ensure a leak-free flare connection, and apply thread sealant rated for refrigerant service on the NPTFE inlet. Pressure-test the system before returning to service.
