The MUELLER INDUSTRIES LH02002 is a Type L copper water tube designed for potable water supply, plumbing distribution, and hydronic applications in residential and light commercial construction. Manufactured from C12200 phosphorus-deoxidized copper, this tube measures 3/8 inch outside diameter with a 0.030-inch wall thickness and ships in a 2-foot length. It meets ASTM B88 standards for seamless copper water tube and is NSF 61G listed, confirming suitability for contact with drinking water. Licensed plumbers and mechanical contractors specify Type L tube for its balance of wall strength and flexibility across a wide range of plumbing and refrigeration service scenarios.
This tube is suited for cold and hot water supply lines, in-wall plumbing rough-in, and radiant or hydronic heating loops where a 3/8-inch line size is specified. The 2-foot cut length works well for repair sections, short branch runs, and fabrication projects where full coils or sticks would be wasteful. Plumbers, pipefitters, and HVAC technicians working on small-diameter supply or service lines will find this length practical for jobsite use.
Designed as a standard Type L seamless copper water tube compatible with 3/8-inch solder-end, compression, flare, and push-to-connect fittings conforming to ASME B16.22 or equivalent standards for copper tube dimensions.
Installation of copper water tube should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with the International Plumbing Code and applicable local amendments. Shut off and depressurize the water supply before cutting into any existing line. Use a tubing cutter sized for 3/8-inch OD tube and deburr the cut end thoroughly before applying flux and solder or making any mechanical connection. Avoid overtightening compression or flare fittings, as C12200 copper work-hardens and is susceptible to cracking at over-stressed joints.
