The MUELLER INDUSTRIES BDNA-15732 is a wrot copper pipe coupling designed for sweat-soldered, copper-to-copper connections in residential and commercial plumbing and HVAC refrigerant piping systems. Sized at 3/8 inch with a cup-by-cup (C x C) end connection, this coupling joins two lengths of copper tubing in a straight run. Wrot copper construction — wrought, not cast — provides a denser grain structure that delivers reliable, leak-resistant joints when properly fluxed and brazed or soldered. The 1/2 inch outside diameter matches standard 3/8 inch nominal copper tube sizing. Licensed plumbers and HVAC technicians are the primary installers of this fitting.
This coupling is suited for domestic water supply lines, hydronic heating loops, refrigerant line sets, and light commercial piping applications where copper is the specified material. The C x C configuration requires no threading or mechanical fasteners — the fitting is soldered or brazed directly onto the tubing ends. It is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 10 units, making it appropriate for both service calls requiring a single repair fitting and larger installation jobs where multiples are needed on hand.

Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or HVAC technician in accordance with the International Plumbing Code (IPC) or applicable local codes. Shut off the water supply or isolate the refrigerant circuit and relieve system pressure before cutting into any existing line. Clean and deburr tubing ends, apply appropriate flux, and solder or braze per code requirements — open flame work near combustibles requires proper shielding. Inspect the joint for full solder flow around the full circumference of the cup before restoring system pressure.
