The MSI PRODUCTS INC A38700065.5 is a Schedule 80 seamless pipe nipple machined from 304 stainless steel, sized at 3/8 inch nominal diameter by 5.5 inches in length. It features male NPT threads on both ends for secure, leak-tight connections in threaded piping systems. Seamless construction eliminates weld seams, reducing potential failure points and providing a smoother internal bore for consistent flow. Manufactured to ASTM A312/SA312 material standards and threaded to ASME B1.20.1 specifications, this nipple is suited for high-pressure and corrosion-sensitive service conditions. Licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and industrial maintenance technicians are the primary installers of this fitting.
This nipple is commonly applied in chemical processing, water treatment, and industrial piping systems where corrosion resistance and structural integrity are required. Its 304 stainless steel composition resists rust, oxidation, and general chemical attack in both indoor and outdoor environments. The Schedule 80 wall thickness supports higher operating pressures compared to Schedule 40 equivalents, making it appropriate for demanding gas, liquid, and chemical service lines. It is sold individually and is suited for both new installations and maintenance replacement work.
Designed as a standard Schedule 80 seamless stainless steel nipple with NPT threads, compatible with any 3/8 inch NPT threaded piping components in chemical processing, water treatment, and industrial piping systems.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or pipefitters following applicable codes such as ASME B31.3 for process piping. Depressurize and isolate the line completely before removing or installing any threaded fitting. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape rated for the service fluid before making up the connection. Do not over-torque threaded connections; use a calibrated pipe wrench and backup wrench technique to avoid thread damage or fitting distortion.
