The MSI PRODUCTS INC A37700064.5 is a 3/8-inch x 4-1/2-inch Schedule 40 pipe nipple machined from 316 stainless steel with NPT threads on both ends. 316 stainless steel provides stronger resistance to chloride-induced pitting and crevice corrosion than standard 304 alloy, making this nipple a reliable choice where aggressive media, high moisture, or sanitation requirements are critical. Material conforms to ASTM A312/SA312 and threading conforms to ASME B1.20.1. Licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and mechanical contractors install these nipples as connecting sections between fittings, valves, and equipment in a wide range of pressure piping systems.
This nipple is suited to marine plumbing, pharmaceutical processing lines, food and beverage systems, chemical processing, and other applications where corrosion control and material traceability are required. The Schedule 40 wall thickness supports typical working pressures found in commercial and industrial piping. Each fitting is pressure tested and carries full lot-code traceability for quality assurance. The part is sold individually and manufactured in an ISO 9001:2000 certified facility.
Designed as a standard Schedule 40 NPT pipe nipple for use in 3/8-inch threaded piping systems. Compatible with any 3/8-inch NPT fittings, valves, or equipment connections requiring a 316 stainless steel nipple of 4-1/2-inch length.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable IPC and ASME B31 piping code requirements. Isolate and depressurize the piping system fully before removing or installing any threaded fitting. Apply an appropriate thread sealant rated for the intended media and pressure before making up the connection. Avoid over-torquing threaded stainless steel fittings, as galling can occur on stainless-to-stainless connections; use a suitable anti-seize compound or PTFE tape where recommended for the service.
