The MSI PRODUCTS INC A293082012 is a 300 LB black malleable iron reducing coupling designed to join two sections of threaded pipe with different diameters in a straight, inline transition. Sized at 1-1/4 inches by 3/4 inches, it handles pressure ratings between 350 and 600 psi, making it appropriate for higher-pressure gas, steam, and liquid piping systems. The black malleable iron construction meets ASTM A197 material specifications, and all threading conforms to ASME B1.20.1. Overall fitting dimensions conform to ASME B16.3. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the typical installers for this class of fitting.
This reducing coupling is used wherever a pipe run must transition between a 1-1/4 inch line and a 3/4 inch line without introducing additional fittings or offsets. Common applications include commercial and residential gas distribution, steam lines, compressed air systems, and industrial fluid piping. Its compact, single-piece body keeps the fitting count low and maintains a clean, straight run through the reduction. Each unit ships individually and carries full lot traceability, with material test reports available on request to support quality-assurance and compliance documentation requirements. Manufacturing takes place in an ISO-certified facility, and fittings are pressure tested for performance consistency prior to shipment.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for standard NPT threaded piping systems requiring a 1-1/4 inch by 3/4 inch inline reduction in 300 LB black malleable iron service.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable local codes and ASME standards. Shut off and depressurize the piping system fully before removing any existing fittings or threading this coupling onto the pipe. Apply an approved thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before assembly and tighten to a firm, wrench-tight fit - do not overtighten malleable iron fittings, as the material can crack under excessive torque. Verify that all connections are leak-free under system pressure before returning the line to service.
