The MSI PRODUCTS INC A223086416 is a 150 lb galvanized malleable iron reducing coupling designed to connect two sections of threaded pipe with different diameters. Built in a heavy-pattern configuration, it provides a reliable transition from a 4-inch pipe to a 1-inch pipe without requiring additional components. The hot-dip galvanized coating delivers strong corrosion resistance, extending service life in harsh or moisture-prone environments. This fitting meets ASME B16.3, ASTM A197, and ASME B1.20.1 standards, and each unit carries full lot traceability with material test reports available upon request. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers for this type of fitting.
This reducing coupling is suited for residential and commercial plumbing, HVAC piping, and general industrial pipe systems where a threaded step-down connection is needed. It is rated for 150 to 300 psi service, making it appropriate for moderate-pressure water, gas distribution, and related fluid-handling lines. The fitting is sold as a single unit and is well-suited for adapting existing threaded lines or retrofitting stepped-down pipe runs in both new construction and repair applications.
Designed as an OEM-style threaded replacement fitting for malleable iron pipe systems using standard NPT threads per ASME B1.20.1, compatible with 4-inch and 1-inch threaded pipe in 150 lb class installations.
This fitting is installed by licensed plumbers or pipefitters working on threaded iron pipe systems. Shut off and depressurize the line completely before removing any existing fitting or beginning thread engagement. Use an appropriate pipe thread sealant or PTFE tape on the male threads before assembly, and tighten with pipe wrenches to achieve proper thread engagement without over-stressing the fitting. Work must comply with applicable codes, including the IPC and IFGC where relevant to the service fluid.
