The MORRIS PRODUCTS 90362 is a split bolt connector with spacer designed for joining copper conductors in electrical installations. The spacer design allows two conductors to be connected without direct contact, enabling tap connections where a run conductor and a tap conductor need to be kept separated within the body of the bolt. This connector accommodates conductor sizes from 4/0 AWG up to 250 kcmil, making it suitable for heavy-duty feeder and service entrance work. Licensed electricians and journeymen installers typically specify this type of fitting for high-ampacity copper conductor splices and taps.
This split bolt connector is used in residential service entrances, commercial feeder runs, and industrial branch circuit applications where copper conductors require a reliable mechanical tap or splice connection. The spacer feature is particularly useful when the run and tap conductors differ in size or when insulation must be maintained between the two conductors within the connector. It is commonly installed in pull boxes, junction boxes, and service equipment enclosures.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and direct equivalent to NSI part number N250SP. Suitable for copper conductor tap and splice applications in the 4/0 AWG to 250 kcmil range.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC). De-energize and lock out the circuit before making any connections. Use an appropriately sized wrench to tighten the bolt to a firm, secure connection without over-stressing the connector body. Tape or insulate the completed connection per NEC requirements for the installation environment.
