The MITUTOYO 543-795B-10 is an electronic drop indicator designed for precision dimensional measurement in machining, manufacturing, and inspection applications. It features an LCD display and an ABS (Absolute) scale that automatically restores the last origin position when the unit is powered on, eliminating over-speed errors for improved measurement reliability. The indicator covers a measurement range of 0.0000 to 0.5000 inches with a resolution of 0.00005 inches and an accuracy of plus or minus 0.001 inches. Measuring force is 2.5 N. A built-in data output port supports integration into measurement networks and SPC data collection systems. Licensed metrologists, machinists, and quality technicians are the primary installers and operators of this instrument.
This indicator is suited for use on surface plates, comparator stands, and precision fixtures in both production and quality control environments. Its flat back and straight connection style make it compatible with standard indicator holders and magnetic base assemblies used across general metrology, tool-and-die, and precision machining workflows. It measures in both inch and metric units, making it adaptable to dual-standard shop environments.
Designed for use with standard indicator holders, magnetic bases, and comparator stands that accept flat-back drop-style indicators with straight connection stems. Confirm holder bore diameter and stem size before mounting.
Mounting and setup should be performed by a qualified machinist, metrologist, or quality technician familiar with precision measurement equipment. Ensure the indicator stem is securely clamped in the holder without over-tightening, which can distort readings. Zero or set the origin point on a known reference surface before beginning measurement runs. Handle the contact point and spindle carefully to avoid impact that could affect calibration.
