The MITUTOYO 468-270 is a three-contact electronic inside micrometer designed to measure internal bores and features with high precision. It covers a range of 2.0000 to 2.5000 inches with a resolution of 0.00005 inches and an accuracy of 0.00015 inches. The measuring surfaces carry a titanium nitride finish for improved wear resistance. A large LCD display with a character height of 7.5 mm makes readings easy to confirm in active shop environments. Built to IP65, the instrument resists coolant splash and dust ingress, making it suitable for use at the machine or on the shop floor. Machinists, toolroom technicians, and quality-control personnel are the primary users.
The 468-270 is suited for precision bore measurement in manufacturing, machining, and toolroom inspection applications. The three-contact design centers the instrument in the bore automatically, reducing operator-induced error during measurement. Data output capability allows readings to be fed directly to SPC software or a data logger, supporting process-control workflows. The instrument ships with a plastic case and a single SR44 battery installed, ready for immediate use. It fits residential shop and industrial production environments where tight bore tolerances must be verified quickly and reliably.
Designed for precision internal bore measurement in the 2.0000 to 2.5000 inch range. Compatible with standard SPC data-collection interfaces that accept electronic micrometer output signals.
Inside micrometers require zeroing or calibration against a certified reference ring gauge before use. Handle contact points with care and avoid dropping the instrument, as impact can affect calibration. Store the instrument in the supplied plastic case when not in use to protect the measuring surfaces and electronics. Battery replacement uses a standard SR44 cell; power down the instrument before replacing the battery.
