The MITUTOYO 422-331-30 is an electronic blade micrometer designed to measure in narrow grooves, keyways, and recessed features where standard anvil-style micrometers cannot reach. It covers a measurement range of 1 to 2 inches (25.4 to 50.80 mm) with a resolution of 0.00005 inches (0.001 mm) and an accuracy of 0.000150 inches (0.0030 mm). The blade thickness measures 0.0295 inches (0.75 mm), allowing access to tight internal features. A ratchet thimble ensures consistent measuring force on every reading. The non-rotating spindle prevents part movement during measurement. Data output is included for connection to SPC data collection systems. Machinists, toolmakers, and quality control technicians are the primary users of this instrument.
This micrometer is suited for precision inspection tasks in manufacturing, machine shops, and quality assurance environments. It excels in applications where standard outside micrometers cannot fit, such as measuring slot widths, groove depths accessible from the side, and thin-walled part features. The IP54 water resistance rating makes it usable in environments with light coolant splash or dust exposure typical of production floor conditions. The included plastic case protects the instrument during storage and transport between jobs.
Designed as an OEM-specification electronic blade micrometer compatible with standard SPC data output systems and SR44 battery-powered metrology instruments in the 1 to 2 inch measuring range.
This instrument requires no installation in the traditional sense but should be calibrated against a known standard before first use and after any impact or drop. A licensed metrologist or trained quality technician should perform calibration verification per shop SOP. Store the micrometer in its included plastic case when not in use to protect the blade anvil from damage. Replace the SR44 battery when the low-battery indicator activates to maintain measurement accuracy.
