It measures from 0 to 0.25 inches with a dial graduation of 0.001 inches and an accuracy of 0.001 inches, making it suitable for surface variation checks, runout measurement, and part comparison work. The 1-5/8 inch diameter white dial features a 0-100 reading scale and a revolution counter to track cumulative travel. A glare-free, scratch-resistant crystal keeps the dial face readable in shop conditions. The lug back mount allows quick fixture or stand attachment. Calibration and inspection technicians, machinists, and tool-and-die professionals are the primary users.
The MITUTOYO 1410A is used in both light manufacturing and precision metrology applications. It is suited for bench setups, surface plate work, and machine tool inspection where a drop-style indicator is preferred over a standard side-reading unit. The 0.1-inch-per-revolution travel makes it straightforward to track small part deviations without losing count across multiple revolutions. The included green limit markers allow quick go/no-go visual checks without additional tooling. The plastic case provides protected storage when the indicator is not in use.
Designed as an OEM-style drop indicator compatible with standard lug-back indicator holders, magnetic bases, and surface plate stands that accept a 0.375 inch stem diameter.
Installation and mounting should be performed by a machinist, metrologist, or qualified inspection technician. Secure the lug back to a rigid stand or fixture before taking measurements to prevent vibration-induced reading errors. Avoid side-loading the stem during contact with the workpiece, as this can affect accuracy and wear the spindle over time.
