It delivers an accuracy of 0.0001 inches and a graduation of 0.001 inches, making it suitable for close-tolerance work where reliable, repeatable readings are required. The micrometer features solid carbide measuring faces on both the anvil and spindle, extending wear resistance over extended use. Store the instrument with the anvil and spindle faces slightly separated to prevent set in the measuring faces. Clean measuring faces with a lint-free cloth before and after use. Calibration and recertification should be performed by a qualified metrologist or per your facility's quality management schedule.
