The MITSUBISHI 670442 is a solid carbide extra-length drill bit engineered for high-performance and high-precision drilling in demanding industrial and trade applications. Built on the MVS series platform, it features a 140-degree drill point angle with X-thinning geometry and a TiAlN coating that improves heat resistance and extends tool life in tough materials. The bit measures 7.7244 inches overall length with a 5.2835-inch helical flute and is rated for a maximum drilling depth of 3.8346 inches. Coolant-through construction supports chip evacuation and thermal management during deep-hole operations. This tool is specified and installed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals working in production and MRO environments.
The 670442 is suited for cross-hole drilling, stack drilling, and standard through-hole operations across a broad range of workpiece materials. Its right-hand spiral and two-flute helical design provide consistent chip flow at extended reach. Primary workpiece material is steel, with secondary compatibility across stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, structural steel, tempered steel, iron, hardened steel, high-strength bronze, copper, cast iron, carbon steel, bronze, brass, aluminum, and aluminum alloy. This makes it a versatile choice in multi-material production setups where a single drill configuration must handle varying stock.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and drilling equipment accepting a cylindrical shank with a 0.4724-inch shank diameter. Suitable for cross-hole, stack, and general drilling operations per the MVS series specification designation ISO.
Installation and use of this drill bit should be performed by qualified machinists or tool setup personnel. Verify toolholder bore compatibility with the 0.4724-inch cylindrical shank before mounting. Ensure coolant lines are connected and flow-tested prior to initiating deep-hole cycles. Follow machine tool manufacturer guidelines for RPM and feed rate based on workpiece material and drilling depth.
