The MITSUBISHI 662881 is a solid carbide extra-length drill bit engineered for high-performance and high-precision drilling in demanding industrial and trade applications. It features a 140-degree split point with X-Thinning geometry, a TiAlN coating for heat and wear resistance, and coolant-through capability to support deep-hole drilling at elevated feeds and speeds. With a 0.1875-inch (3/16-inch) cutting diameter, a 1.7680-inch helical flute length, and a 4.1680-inch overall length, this bit is built for work where standard-length drills fall short. The right-hand spiral, two-flute design provides clean chip evacuation across a wide range of materials.
This drill bit is suited for cross hole drilling, stack drilling, and standard drilling operations in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, carbon steel, tempered steel, hardened steel, aluminum, aluminum alloy, brass, bronze, high-strength bronze, copper, structural steel, superalloys, and titanium. It is appropriate for both shop and field use by machinists and precision-trade technicians working in metalworking, fabrication, and maintenance environments. The MVS series designation indicates Mitsubishi's high-performance solid carbide line. Maximum drilling depth is 0.9730 inches.
The 662881 is an MVS series solid carbide drill bit designed for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and compatible toolholding systems accepting a 0.236-inch cylindrical shank. It is rated for use across ISO material groups P, M, K, and N, covering steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and non-ferrous materials.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians with the machine in a fully de-energized and locked-out state per applicable machine safety standards. Secure the cylindrical shank fully within a compatible chuck or collet toolholder before operation. Coolant-through capability should be confirmed at the spindle before engaging internal coolant supply. Do not exceed the rated maximum drilling depth of 0.9730 inches in a single pass without pecking cycles or chip-clearing intervals as required by the material and machine setup.
