The MITSUBISHI 662653 is a carbide extra length drill bit designed for high-performance and high-precision drilling in demanding trade and industrial applications. Built to MVS Series specifications, it features a TiAlN coating and an X-Thinned web with X-Thinning point geometry that reduces thrust and improves chip evacuation. The 140-degree drill point angle is suited for hard and difficult-to-machine materials. With a 1.327-inch flute length and a 3.510-inch overall length, this bit provides the reach needed for deeper bore access while maintaining rigidity through its parallel web configuration. Coolant-through capability supports extended tool life in high-cycle operations.
This drill bit is intended for use in cross hole drilling, standard drilling, and stack drilling operations. It is designed for right-hand cutting with a right-hand helical flute and a cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece material is steel, with secondary suitability for stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, structural steel, tempered steel, iron, high-strength bronze, hardened steel, copper, cast iron, carbon steel, bronze, brass, aluminum, and aluminum alloys. Typical users include machinists, tool-and-die tradespeople, and maintenance technicians working in metal fabrication or production environments.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use drill bit for machining operations requiring a 0.25-inch diameter carbide extra length bit in the MVS Series configuration.
This bit should be installed by a qualified machinist or maintenance technician familiar with CNC or manual drilling equipment. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Verify chuck or collet specifications match the 0.315-inch shank diameter before securing the bit. Enable coolant flow before engaging the cut when using coolant-through setups to prevent thermal shock to the carbide tip.
