The MITSUBISHI 251256 is a CCGT-series carbide turning insert with grade VP10RT and an AlTiN PVD coating, designed for finishing operations in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and superalloy and titanium workpieces. The insert features an 80-degree diamond (rhombic) shape with a positive rake and positive side clearance, producing clean, precise cuts at light depths. With a corner radius of 0.0080 inches and an inscribed circle of 0.2500 inches, this insert is optimized for tight-tolerance finishing passes where surface finish and dimensional accuracy are critical. It ships individually but requires a minimum order of 10 units per purchase.
This insert is suited for CNC turning centers, lathes, and boring operations in job shops and production environments handling steel and stainless steel components, cast iron parts, and superalloy or titanium workpieces. The FJ chip breaker geometry is engineered for finishing applications, controlling chip formation at shallow depths of cut up to 0.0852 inches. Installation is performed by machining professionals using compatible CCGT screw-type toolholders. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Inspect the toolholder pocket for wear or debris before seating a new insert, as contamination can affect runout and surface finish.
