The MITSUBISHI 229331 is a CCGT-style carbide turning insert with an 80-degree diamond (rhombic) shape, designed for finishing operations in CNC and manual turning applications. Coated with AlTiN via a PVD process, it delivers moderate wear resistance combined with toughness across a broad range of workpiece materials. The left-hand insert features a positive rake geometry with a honed cutting edge, an inscribed circle of 0.172 inches, and a corner radius of 0.008 inches. It is held by screw and is suited for turning, facing, and boring operations performed by machinists and CNC operators in production or job-shop environments.

This insert is primarily applied to steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and superalloys including titanium.
